OMG- Our President is Spending Time With His Kids

Since I have been having one of those weeks, I might as well vent about the President too. Well not really the President, but those who think that it is horrible that he gets to sit down on the couch and spend father daughter time with them. This is just one of the many comments that someone said, “Must be nice meanwhile while he destroys the life’s of millions of other family’s”. I very much dislike talking politics and who is right and who is wrong. Who is a Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever else someone may want to come up with for the day. I vote for the person not the party. Hmmm is there a actual party for those like me that read up on all candidates and don’t believe all the garbage posted on Facebook?

Image

OK, back to the reason for my blog post. On his Facebook page there is a picture of him sitting with his daughters. And some of the comments are just plain old horrible. He may be our President and I may not like all he does. Which of course not one president did everything that everyone wanted them to do. But he is a father too. And his daughters should be sitting there with him. What in the world do people expect? He is human, he has a family and yes he is the President. He has his plate more than full. I guess if anyone that thanks they can do better and juggle making the world happy all the time, they should go sign up. That is a job I would never want to have because of all the hateful and mean people out there.

When I looked at the picture of the President with his daughters, I paid more attention to his daughter that is snuggling next to him and the joy on her face. All parents and children should be able to have that same joy. And kudos to him for taking a few moments out of his day to spend with his daughters, wife and dog BO. And Lord forbid he go on vacation like any other person. Now granted if there is a problem that can’t wait, then he should put it off a bit. I’m pretty sure though that his vacations are anything but relaxing because of all the cameras, security and who ever else is around trying to take over the world. If he is like any other workaholic and high profile worker, he is always working even when he isn’t. What we see in the media isn’t always what is really going on. I know that is a shocker to many that the internet may lie or embellish the truth, but it is true.

Image
Yep, they are at it again… Hugging and Kissing in Public

Β

I like the fact to that the President isn’t afraid to hold his wife’s hand or give her a kiss in public. Shoot, at-least he doesn’t have the whole Monica thing going on. He has no problem showing his love for his family no matter who is watching. And how people can turn a family moment like them having dinner together or dancing into a huge political battle is beyond me. We all are afforded the right to love others. We are commanded in the Bible to Love God and love our neighbors. I actually think our pastor mentioned that this last Sunday. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t thinking about Obama though, lol.

I’m not going to get into the politics of what he did or didn’t do. This blog post is about family and taking time for your family. No matter who you are or aren’t. Cherish your children while they are young. They grow up fast and before you know it you have 5 grandchildren that is approaching teenager years. Egads on the very thought of that.

Lisa’s Ordeal Wild Boars, Rattlesnakes and Driven to Drink

IMG_7877
My friend Lisa, lol driven to drink

OK! Back to my Arizona trip with my friend Lisa…

I have to say that I seen sides of Lisa I never thought I would see. Not in a bad way though. On this trip it was nice to get away from all the daily stuff and get ourselves into all kinds of other troubles and predicaments.

Lisa and I each day went out exploring areas we have never been too before. From Ghost towns like Bisbee to someplace in the middle of nowhere. We encountered wild boars, rattlesnakes, cattle and bulls with huge horns. At the end of the trip Lisa was ready to hunker down in the nearest field and drink herself to oblivion, lol.

When we were up at Fairbanks to go see the cemetery the lady that watches the property instructed us to watch out for wild boars. We shouldn’t stare them down, just leave them alone. Now my sister and I both knew what they were. We lived in that area and didn’t think twice. But poor Lisa had no idea. My sister Brenda picks up a stick that’s about 3 or 4 feet long and it had a point at the end. Just in case, we would shew them away with it or at least one of us could get away.

Image
The Stick

On the way back down, we lean the stick up against the tree, just in case anyone else needed a stick to shew away the wild boars. Now after Lisa figured out what they were, she let out this high pitch scream or whatever it is called and was wondering what kind of a wild boar would be scared away with that stick, haha. Β When she realized what we were up against, she had little faith in that short pointy stick, lol

Image
Wild Boars

When we first started off on the trip, I was filling Lisa in on what our trip might be like. I didn’t realize till the encounter with the wild boars that she thought I was exaggerating the whole thing, lol. That was until they ran in front of us. Β Lisa knew at this point that there is no exaggeration on what to watch out for in the west. And the look on her face was priceless when she kept reliving the stick and how that was going to save her from wild pigs. It was the best laugh I had in a very long time. Lisa had this image of what a wild boar looks like. She thought they looked like cute little piggies, lol. If I was to have a drink in my hand I would have spilled it all over the place as I was about to die from laughing so hard. I told her what they were, but she didn’t get the idea till she seen first hand.

Rattlesnake Skin

After the wild boar incident, we then encountered two more rattlesnakes in the road. We would pull off the road and start taking pictures whenever we wanted. If there was a car behind us, they had to go around. But Lisa was not seeing getting out of the car after the wild boars and killing a rattle snake was not on her agenda either. Thankfully we killed them with the car and heard the thu thunk.

As we got closer to my parents house, Β it was hard to contain ourselves on the whole Lisa and pig thing. But I pulled over to take pictures of the sunset. Lisa is still in the car refusing to get out. Then my sister Bren goes into details about the wild boars at my parents house. Β The wild boars would go under the house and try to go through the floor of their trailer. She didn’t believe us on that one. Then as we walked into the house, my dad starts telling her the same thing. I was wishing I had my camera in hand on the look she gave and the UH HUHHHS, lol. Dad would go into how they come out at dusk and you will see them in the mornings. Which is true. Well, that just about did Lisa in, lol. She was not seeing going outside at all unless the sun was out and she could see. πŸ™‚

Unrestored part of Gleeson, I think

After she came to the realization that she is in the west where there are ghost towns (Gleeson, Pierce, Tombstone, Fairbanks and so on), wild animals and rattlesnakes a bit of feat and need of the drink came to her mind.

When we first came to Gleeson, which is for sale for $65,000 the first thing we came upon is a rattlesnake skin. I told Lisa that if there is a rattlesnake skin there is a rattlesnake near by. The first thing she did was look down at her shoes, which were sandals and that’s what I had on too, lol. I’m sure some colorful word came flying out of her at that time. I told her to follow me and make sure to look ahead, listen for rattles and just be careful. By this time she isn’t trusting me at all. But she follows anyhow. The funny thing too is that there was literally hundred of thousands of grasshoppers all over and they make noises like something is moving in the grass. So she was freaked a bit I would say.

IMG_6614
The dirt road that went somewhere. Good thing we were in Lisa’s SUV

After we went to the restored part of Gleeson, a guy told us that if we want to really see the real buildings that have mostly the foundations only or just the walls, that we should go down Ghost Town Rd. Which we did. We encounter all kinds of cool buildings and some that have been tagged, which is sad. It was getting dark this way and with neither one of us being from the area, we figured we should get back to civilization, if that is what you call it. We were on a dirt road and we decided that we would just keep going straight, We seen what was behind us, but not sure ahead. So here we go and hopefully we weren’t going to drive off the edge of a cliff like Thelma and Lois.

On that road we found many cows. No people, but lots of bulls, calves and all kinds of things that was trying to get us to play catch us if you can or stare down. We did make it to a black top road after a while and thankfully I knew what the power station looked like. We had to drive another half hour to get to my parents, but we were on black top and had only one other obstacle and that was the border patrol. Lisa didn’t like one of the ladies and said she was mean, lol. So we made it through the check point unharmed and not arrested. So all was good. Or according to me. For me it is just another day thing for that area and it is what it is. But to Lisa, lol It was a nightmare she is still reliving.

Driven to drink… Yeah, that is putting it mildly. After the hotel, wild boars and feeling like we were going to have to go and dig our own graves and bury ourselves, a drink was in order.

Parking in the Handicapped Spots- And NOT Disabled

I have been working on my Arizona trip, but taking a break from that today to post this vent and hopefully raise some awareness to handicapped parking.Β

Image
Illegally Parked

Today I’m at my grandson’s school to pick him up from school and was royally ticked when I got there and all the handicapped spaces were taken by those who have no placard or plates that are handicapped. This has happened a number of times while I have been there.

So out jumps mothers and fathers with phone in hand and running up to get the kids from school and then proceed to the vehicle. One lady is on her phone talking to someone next to her in another non handicapped person’s vehicle. While a few cars, myself included was forced to park all the way at the end of the parking lot, because there were no spaces to park.

ImageSo I was thinking to myself, “why would someone park illegally in a handicapped space?”

  • They are lazy, so they park as close to the entrance as they can so they donβ€˜t have to walk and they donβ€˜t care if they take up a disabled parking space.
  • The lady today was in such a hurry to get her child that she had the time to text and talk to those around her. Maybe in their mind being in a hurry is justified and OK… Tell that to the veteran or the handicapped person who can’t walk easily.
  • Maybe they are worried someone will scratch the vehicle and that warrants taking 2 spots of a handicapped space?
  • Wait, maybe they don’t see the big blue sign that says handicapped parking only or think it is just a suggestion. If they can’t see that on the ground and the sign, they should NOT be driving at all.
  • Let me see, maybe they know that nobody will ticket them and they can do what they want because they are special.
  • They obviously have money to throw away on fines in case they get caught. So $125.00 is a drop in the bucket for them. But then like my number 5 on my list, they know nobody is patrolling.

Sorry, I am being sarcastic on this, because I know I am. But also at the same time, people don’t get it. In order to have a handicapped placard or plate, you have to have a disability.

According to the Utah Motor Vehicle Division, this is what you have to do to qualify for a handicapped parking permit.

ImageQualifications for Disabled Parking

Individuals with disabilities can qualify for disabled person’s license plates, which are mounted on their cars in place of regular license plates, or disabled person’s placards, that are hung from the rear view mirror of their cars. These plates or placards allow the disabled person to park in specially marked parking areas that are convenient to the entrances of public buildings. The plates may be personalized.

State law defines a β€œdisabled” person as one who:

  1. Β Β cannot walk 200 feet without stopping to rest;
  2. Β cannot walk without the use of, or assistance from, a brace, cane, crutch, another person, prosthetic device, wheelchair or other devices;
  3. Β is restricted by lung disease to a specific standard;
  4. uses portable oxygen;
  5. Β has a cardiac condition to a specific standard; or
  6. is severely limited in his or her ability to walk, due to an arthritic, neurological, or orthopedic condition.

Although many people, such as new mothers, people with minor injuries and others, can obviously benefit from the use of disabled parking privileges, each case must meet one of the six criteria listed above in order to qualify.

Certification of continued qualification and use must be provided every two years when requested by the DMV.

Plate must be surrendered upon death or inability to use.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β

OK, now I’m getting off this topic because I can go on and on when it comes to this topic and being aware that the handicapped people need those spaces. It isn’t because they are lazy, out of shape or just don’t care. They would love to be able to park out on the north 40 and still be able to breath and not pay the price for wanting to go to the store or pick up a child from school.

I tried to find a video on handicapped parking for our state. But there is a good video from Pittsburgh that shows the problem and the stupidity of people.Β http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKKM-FHxFzc

Spending Time with Family- Part Twp of AZ trip

We got to spend some good quality time with my family. I have to say that I am happy I live in Utah, lol.

Image
My friend Lisa (crazy redhead, lol) and my sister Bren. Bren has the colorful shirt and blond hair.

It was nice getting to spend some one on one time with my sisters and parents. I feel bad for them though because there is a lot going on around them. My sisters are helping my parents with doing things around the house and they are trying to make some extra money by doing cute bird houses and crafts for Christmas. I will include the link to their page for their things they are selling. There aren’t many opportunities to make a living in this small farming area that is by the border of Mexico, so they do the best they can under the circumstances.

We got to spend a couple outings with my sister Bren. We went to Bisbee and Tombstone with her. She doesn’t get much of a chance to get out of the house since she has no transportation to go anywhere. It was nice getting to see her have a smile on her face and enjoying the time getting away. She has had a rough go of things.

She had a blast just hanging out and doing normal things. When she is at home she helps my parents around the house and helps as she can. She did just have surgery and she is in my prayers that she has a speedy recovering and that she begins feeling better.

Image
This guy was pretty cool. Gene Lawrence is 74 yrs old and is known as Cowboy Gene Lawrence. He is the most decorated Master Power lifter in Arizona. A three time world champion and holds dozens of world records.

My sister Joyce, Lisa and I went to the church I will always consider my saving grace. That place is the Willcox Church of the Nazarene. I think for Joyce it was a way to look back and put things in the past and go on. I wish the church was closer so she could go. She seemed to enjoy it and the message was one she needed to hear. And that was on how Jesus died for us on Calvary and He loves us. We have our stains and sins, but we can be assured that Jesus loves us and will always be there for us.

We drove past our old house and where my grandfather use to live. It is like Willcox stood still in time. I think for myself I have a problem with that because things and life are meant to progress, not be standing still. We are to move forward and not live in the past. And when I go there, everything is the same. Although I do love my little church and I wanted to take the alter home with me where I shed many tears during Weds night prayer meetings. Lisa said it wouldn’t fit in the car, lol. But I was taken back to some pretty difficult times in my life when I see the alter and I could see the place where I knelt at prayed. And my old pastor living in the same house and many tears shed around their dining room table. I will go more into this on another post.

ImageWhen sitting visiting with my parents, I did notice how time has caught up with them. Mom has a lot of pain and arthritis. She has trouble getting around. I would love to find someone that could go down there and help make the stairs to the front, back and my sister’s trailer safer. To me, it is an accident waiting to happen. Thanks to friends here I was able to take down some medical equipment for my mom and dad. My dad is having his share of medical and hearing problems. They are getting up there in age and are in their 70’s. But it’s not easy to see your parents having such a difficult time.

I have to say that after going down there I am more than grateful for the life I have. I don’t think I could do what my sisters do there. For the help they offer mom and dad, I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I feel sad for them though at the same time. Because I love them and want them happy, I wish they could find some sort of peace and happiness. Everyone should be able to have the freedom to enjoy life and be happy. And I don’t sense that there is much there. I was very happy to see the changes in my sister when they got to get out of the house and go to breakfast or lunch without having to worry about a time to come back. Even though they may have wanted to get home earlier that didn’t happen, lol.Β  Β

My brother is also down there. I didn’t see him much. He would come out of his room every now and then, but other than that, he was there but not there. He does have this grumpy dog that snarls at his bedroom door. My parents have some dogs and so do my sisters. I thought I had a zoo, lol. They have cute dogs though. My friend Lisa brought back two of the cats my parents had. I will have to post pics of them.

I think I will have to plan a trip down there again sooner than usual. With my parents getting older and it was nice to see that they were happy to see me and they were really nice to my friend Lisa.

Elfrida’s Bates Motel (Elfrida Lodge)

Image
The window with a number of panes of glass is our room and Lisa’s bed is by that. The one piece of glass was replaced due to gun shots… HELLO!

Β We arrived and conquered the traffic. We made it to Elfrida the night before and we are all checked into our hotel. It is called the Desert Lodge, but it should be renamed the Bates Motel. My niece and sister said it was nice and others have stayed there. I don’t want to offend them by this post because it has nothing to do with them. I guess the rooms they had people stay in were better than the ones we had. But this is our experience.

Image
The Stairs

Lisa and I go back to the hotel after we leave my parents house. When we pulled in, we had to bring our stuff up a ton of stairs. OK, not a ton, but it seemed like it to us. The stairs was a disaster in the making. A couple of the stairs were broken in half and kinda jimmied there. The stair rails were coming out of the wall. If you touched it, it would come forward.

There was no light outside the open area by the rooms. So it was pitch black while we were walking up them. Once we made it to the room, we inspected it further and were not impressed at all. Actually, if we didn’t already prepay, we would have left. My sisters and my parents house has no room what so ever, so there wasn’t much of a choice. I think the next time we will drive the 30 minutes since we did a lot of driving anyhow. I think Bisbee is a good choice J

Image
The line behind her is the main power line that goes from the street to the hotel. If you moved your had about 6 inches, you would be hitting the main power line and shock the bejibbers out of you… Not cool

The lady said there was a microwave and fridge. OK, I have to give her this one. The microwave and fridge was in a room that you enter before you go to your room. There were no lights, so you couldn’t see what you were doing. We attempted to heat up food, but that was hard. I was surprised and why I was surprised is beyond me is that they had no coffee pots. So we had to go get some. Thankfully there was a place that had coffee. Very small, but they had it. My parents also had coffee…

It may have been a good thing that they had no coffee pot since they had no cups. But then why would I expect cups since they never came to clean the room, bring towels or anything else>

When I went back to the hotel to hunt down the manager, there was a sweet little Mexican lady there. She tried to help me find the manager, but that was NOT going to happen. And I guess I worded things a bit bad. I told her if the manager showed up, can you tell her I am looking for her. And if that fire alarm battery isn’t changed and the chirping stopped I will take a baseball bat to it. That may not have been a good selection of words for the moment.

The one thing that both Lisa and I come to the conclusion is that we can’t eat like teenagers. We both were sick and not feeling good. Normally we eat around 6 or 7 pm for dinner. I think that is a normal time. But at my parents they have dinner around 3 or 4 pm…

Image
Bathroom floor that you had to step over or fall to the bottom hotel room. That is not on my agenda of things to do at all!
Image
I think this is the original toilet… I’m guessing the 60’s

As you can tell we survived, but not because of the hotel. I’m not too sure about a lady named Kim though. While I was in the bathroom, and how I heard this since there was no windows is beyond me. But this lady Kim and some guy were fighting and he told her that if she called the cops he was going to kill her. HELLO! This is not a good conversation while I’m in the bathroom or anyplace else. I left the bathroom while stepping over the floor area that was about to fall through and made it back to my bed by the grace of God. A few minutes later, I see lights flashing in the windows. All I could think was, you better watch out Kim, he is gonna be mad, lol. All of this is going on while Lisa is in her bed sleeping. I still can’t figure out how I heard that. Maybe it was because of the numerous holes in the wall leading to the outside. Hmmmm, what cha think?

So let me warn anyone that may be heading that way and thinking about going to Elfrida, sleep in the vehicle or drive 25 miles further to Douglas or Sierra Vista. You are taking your life into your own hands. Poor Lisa was Β even driven to drink, lol. Not really, but she did have a drink… I have a picture of this, I just need to find it…Β

Trip to Arizona

Image
Town of Elfrida AZ

Last week my friend Lisa and I took off to start a new adventure. What was seemingly going to be a road trip to visit my parents, sisters and brother in Elfrida, AZ turned into at times what I would consider Nightmare on Highway 191 instead of Nightmare on Elm Street.

There were so many things that went on during our trip that I decided to cover my trip in parts. This way I can add more details without writing a book or boring anyone to death.

The blog titles and sections will include these posts

  1. Elfrida’s Bates Motel (Elfrida Lodge)
  2. Spending time with family
  3. Lisa’s Ordeal Wild Boars, Rattlesnakes and Driven to Drink
  4. Tombstone and Fairbanks
  5. Willcox Church of the Nazarene
  6. Shutterbug Times (Outings and Photo Ops)
  7. Bisbee
  8. Feeling Blessed
  9. Trip Home

This trip seemed to be a lot about appreciation for what I have and what God has done in my life. It is about family and being there for each other.

Butt Hurt

ImageThis isn’t directed at any one person. So if someone gets butt hurt or takes it personally know that it isn’t because of what I said, but the way it was interpreted. Or maybe it is something that one needs to look deep inside and figure out why you are butt hurt to begin with.Β

Definition of Butt Hurt- offended, upset, or angry, usually by a small slight or a friendly insult.

I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one who has ever been butt hurt over something stupid. Sometimes I have a way of blowing things out of proportion. Almost always I have someone telling me that I took something the wrong way, which in most cases is true. But, what about those people who get butt hurt over silly things and can’t get over it?Β

ImageI have to say that I have a problem with people that get butt hurt over stupid things. Well, not really butt hurt over stupid things, but allowing that to get in the way of relationships. A prime example is politics. During the time of the elections people were literally unfriending people over someone they don’t know or what party someone votes for. If they are a Democrat they must be the scum of the earth, so off they go as a friend. What is sad is that they may have been lifetime friends or family members and now they no longer exist in the minds of the butt hurt friend.Β

What about that person who doesn’t show up at a party because they forgot? Β The person that is butt hurt takes it personally because the other person was unable to be there. So off they go as a friend and drop into the bottomless pit with all other people that have butt hurted someone.Β

As a Christian, I find it interesting when I find another Christian who can’t get over being butt hurt. Β I think of the Bible verse in the Bible, “Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”Β

ImageNow, my thought on this verse is that we are to forgive one another. If we want to be forgiven, then we must also forgive. I guess I have a problem when I see a Christian who knows that they should be forgiven and have asked for forgiveness themselves and they can’t extend the same hand to another. For me, I’m very grateful that I’m forgiven. Even though I may butt hurt someone with this post or other posts and I guess in a strange way I’m OK with that.Β

You may wonder why I’m OK with butt hurting someone. If not, you may not want to read anymore. So close your eyes and skip to the next blog. But if someone gets butt hurt over not forgiving someone, then they need to examine themselves. I’m pretty sure each and everyone of us has said something stupid, didn’t show up somewhere on time or some other horrible crime like forget a birthday or that the moon rose or the sun sets.Β

Some people need to get over the petty stuff going on and realize there are more important things going on around us. Just the other day this young girl dies and her family is mourning her loss. I bet they will look back at all the petty things that happened and wish to God that they could take back moments and the time spent with that loved one. So what if someone forgets something or a date. That is trivial. The person is important.

ImageShoot I have gotten butt hurt over alot of things in my life and things my daughters have said or done. And I’m positive I butt hurt them, but at the end of the day no matter how butt hurt I may be, I love them. My niece that lived with me all through high school has pushed my buttons and butt hurt me and I did the same with her. No matter what she does and says, I love her too. If I counted all the times I butt hurt someone or someone butt hurted me, I would be the only person on a deserted island and there would be nobody to blame but myself.Β

Image

Basically I just wanted to say that is stupid things worth holding onto and letting them get in the way of a relationship with someone you love or care about? Has someone forgiven you for something you did and didn’t deserve said forgiveness? Have you never offended a person and bad someone feel bad? If you said yes to this, then more than likely there is some state of disillusionment going on in your world. If you want to be forgiven, then you need to forgive too and stop letting stupid petty things get in the way of living life and having happy relationships.Β

Shoot, now I lost track of my topic, so I guess I should stop this because I may rant about rainbows and Bible studies. Don’t ask! If you want to know, you can read the blog below because they got me butt hurt, but now I’m kinda over it. πŸ™‚Β

Rainbows and Bible Studies

Hmmm… Not too impressed with this website biblestudies.org because they send in a form that too much information was used on a post on my blog and that they wanted it removed since no permission was given.Β

ImageOK! I get that there are copy-write laws and stuff. But not too sure I have a good taste in my mouth over those who own that site because all the would have had to do is send me an email and ask to take it down. Instead they file a grievance, which blocked the post anyhow. Β A simple email to say, “could you credit the information back” or whatever. Even though, I’m not sure how much places own Bible verses about colors of the rainbow in the Bible. BUT, OK… So I took the post down and wrote them a note since I couldn’t get the form on wordpress to work. Β

I still wonder who has the right to Bible verses and how they are used. But I think from now on when I have a Bible study, Β I won’t be using their site and I won’t be recommending it to anyone since they don’t have the courtesy to send a email.Β

So, now I’m going to redo my rainbow post and hmmmm…Β

Halloween in Schools and Dinasours

Tonight is one of those nights like many when I can’t sleep because of pain. Β I have to sit up to get rid of the muscle spasms that think they need to happen in my spine. While this is happening my mind gets wondering and this blog compiles a few of my complaints. I will try to be brief in them though so I can go back to sleep.Β

1. Β Halloween in the schools are driving me crazy. If people choose to celebrate Halloween, then that is fine. But there are many children that don’t celebrate Halloween and are forced into taking part in activities that are against the families religion. It has been a battle that is brewing.Β

ImageWe aren’t Jehovah’s Witnesses and many think that if you don’t celebrate this holiday then you must be. Because of the pagan origins we have chosen not to do this holiday. I watch my grandson JJ who goes to kindergarten and everyday he goes to school, they do something that has to do with Halloween. And it is very frustrating to say the least. Β Schools have issues with telling the true story of Christ in the schools and is overly accepting of Halloween.Β

Everyone has their own reasons for celebrating this particular holiday. Many Christians do while others don’t. It isn’t up to me to force my views on others. But when a child comes home from school and is totally confused and hurting because he can’t do the activities, then something needs to be addressed. Three in ten children do not celebrate Halloween. I have no issue with doing activities that are based on fall and harvest. But I do have a problem when the schools don’t offer an alternative for these three out of ten children. Parents are choosing homeschooling as an alternative because of things like this. When JJ comes home with skeletons, witches hats and other things Halloween oriented, it makes me want to go to his school and have a one on one discussion.Β

2. I’m getting rather ticked off at a computer that I’m using for church worship services. I love to create eye pleasing slides that makes people happy. I love to see the reactions during the service when they see a familiar face come across the screen. It’s something I really enjoy.Β

ImageBut dang nabit, the computer that was given to the church is a pain in my backside. It is slower than a snail and has very little space. It bogs down for even short videos. I have been working on this Sundays program now for two days and it should only take a hour or two at the very most. I have decided that I’m going to just go get a decently priced laptop and donate it for church use.Β

It’s not enjoyable when it takes me days to do something because the computer is ancient. So, I think when I get back from Arizona I may either buy my husband a new laptop and take his or I will buy and inexpensive one and just bite the bullet. Either way, something has to give and it is getting to me that it is so slow. That computer should have been retired years ago. If people remember how slow dial up was when computers came out, then you can imagine. Β I will have to ask hubby what he wants to do on this. Because when my frustration gets this high, it is not a good thing. And working on a computer that still operates on the XP 2002 version is not my idea of a good thing. I’m feeling like a soldier going to war and given a water pistol to take out the enemy. It just doesn’t work unless you are a bug.Β

The one good thing is that the Easy Worship CD was found, but now the computer is even slower once it was installed. So if anyone hears of a mad women being admitted into the funny farm over computer murder, know that it is me. I shot the computer and it died a slow and painful death.Β

3. Well, there is no number three. I figured I would leave any other topic alone since these last two are major triggers for me this week.Β

Max On the Loose

Today started off pretty normal for the most part. But ended in a funny way.

Sour Cream Lemon

I went on a drive about today with our new pastors wife Kathi. Kathi and I went up to Veyo to pick up some of the best ever pie. You can’t go wrong with Veyo Pies. For those who don’t live in Utah, it is the best ever pie. We stopped and got a lemon sour cream and a chocolate cream pie and went on our next leg of our journey.

We went to visit a lady from church so I can take some pictures of birds and nature. Susan showed us around and we had a nice visit with her.

On the way home, instead of going the same route, we went from Veyo to Gunlock. It is a very pretty drive that takes you past the lake, through the Shivwit Reservation and eventually back home. We stopped a few times to take pictures and then had an accidental stop. It was very much unplanned.

This is Max…

Running down the road was this small Pomeranian dog. It couldn’t be a year old. I stop the car and Kathi is looking at me with a strange look and asks me what I was doing. I opened my door and the dog came in and I was holding him. He had a color on with a name and number. So we were going to try to find the owner of said dog.

I didn’t think about how Kathi would react, but the look was priceless. I didn’t know she wasn’t a dog person, lol. And here in my arms is this little dog that was running down the street that is now in my car.

As we drive through town, we notice that some firemen are parked on the side of the road gabbing. So I ask them if they may know who said dog belongs to. They said it belong to some people that was three houses down in a two story white house. We found the house. We haven’t heard yet from the owners that we called. The firemen told us to just put it in the yard if nobody is home. Easy enough I guess.

But things got weird at that point. As soon as we drove up to the house, a man pulled up. The little dog seemed to know the surroundings and seemed to be happy to be home. Kathi went to knock on the door and talked to the man. He didn’t live there, he just wanted to pick some pomegranates from the tree in these peoples yard. There was no answer and they notice that the door wasn’t shut all the way, so the little guy was put in the house and all was well. Well, kinda!

We felt like we did our good deed and here comes a call from the owner. They didn’t live in that house. They wanted us to take the dog to some ranch where it came from that I never heard of. So that wasn’t going to happen. But I guess the people that live in that house are breeders and that was one of the puppies. The dog went from place to place and the family that owned him was visiting people in Salt Lake. So what to do now?

We ended up leaving the dog there at the house and I wonder what the face of the person will look like when this dog named Max is there looking at them, lol. I guess someone from the family will have to go over and get Max, I hope at least.

IMG_4072Then as we continued on our way home and taking picture sessions, I pull off to one of my favorite places on that road. There is a river and it is kinda peaceful. Kathi is taking pictures and so am I and then two Washington County Sheriffs pulls up and knocks on the window where Kathi is sitting. They startle her I’m sure, hahaha. I guess they thought we needed help since Kathi was on her cell phone and she was alone. They didn’t see me yet.

All in all it was a good day and I love it when I can go out and just go and it was nice doing it with Kathi. She is a very nice person and we have alot of things in common, which makes it nice. Even though she doesn’t like dogs, lol I think she is a keeper πŸ™‚

While I had them there though I thought I would tell them that if some person calls and they say a strange dog is in the house that we put it there because the firemen said it lived there πŸ™‚ I think this will be a day that she will remember for awhile hahaha. As soon as she sends me the picture of me holding the dog I will post it on here. It was too funny.
